Nasal Deformity
The outer structure of the nose is made up by bone and cartilage covered with skin. A deformity of the nose occurs due to changes in the one or more of these components. This may occur in isolation or along with a deviation of the central partition within the nose ie. Deviated nasal septum.
The common concerns that one may have with the appearance of ones nose include a depression, hump, deviation (twisted), too wide or too narrow.
The treatment is by surgical correction of deformity ie a Rhinoplasty. Sometimes this may have to be combined with correction of the nasal septum ie. Septorhinoplasty.
